ABOUT CLAY

Local businessman Clay Brett and his wife, Lindsay, have been residents of West U in Houston for over 6 years. One of the many things they truly cherish about their community is the way families within it connect across generations as neighbors and friends. Clay and Lindsay are raising their young children in their beautiful community and strive to continue to preserve the neighborhood’s sense of security and connectivity.

Clay is a partner at Millennial Energy Partners, where he serves on the Investment Committee of Millennial’s affiliated York Tactical Energy Fund. Prior to Millennial, Clay was a corporate attorney at Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP and Bracewell & Giuliani LLP, and he has served on the boards of the Houston Center for Literacy, Shelters to Shutters – Houston and the West University Place Zoning Board of Adjustment. He is the founder of HSC National Golf Club, a golf matchplay society with members in 13 states. Clay is a graduate of the University of Florida, with honors, and Vanderbilt Law School.

With a dynamic background and overwhelming support from the West U neighborhood, Clay is ready to lead West U to preserve and better his community. His passion comes from a drive to make his children’s and neighbors’ community as safe and prosperous as possible and, in doing so, continue West U’s role as a model community for all others to aspire to be. This passion only grew after a near-miss pedestrian-auto accident involving his son within their neighborhood. As a City Council member, Clay will seek to improve his community for not just families, but for all people in his city.
